I have a lot of information to send out in prep for the end of the season and will be sending out multiple emails in a few minutes. Hopefully the mulitiple emails will make it easier to keep track of all the things going on and make it easier search for the info.
Tomorrow's meet: This is the information I received from the other rep--
Our pool's address is 6800 Bridle Wood Dr, Springfield, VA 22152, and the phone number is 703-451-9428. There should be plenty of parking available in our lot. Your team will have access to our 1-meter diving board for warm-ups beginning at 5:00 PM until about 5:45 PM. We plan to start the meet promptly at 6:00 PM.
Please ask your judges and table workers to arrive by 5:30 so we may start the meet on time. If you anticipate trouble filling your volunteer positions, please let me know as soon as possible so that we can find additional volunteers. Meet sheets should be given to the meet secretary by 5:30 PM at the latest, although earlier is preferable. Also, if you are able to email your roster ahead of time that would be appreciated so that we can get a head-start on the meet paperwork.
Below is the information I shared with our dive families. This year we are experimenting with keeping our pool open during dive meets, and it worked really well at our last home meet.
The meet will begin at 6:00. Families and friends are invited to come! During the meet, divers are welcome to stay with their families or hang out in the team area - it is up to your diver and what makes them most comfortable. There will be chairs set up near the dive well, but families are welcome to find any comfortable spot for your family to watch the meet. While the rest of our pool will stay open during the meet, the dive well (including the basketball area / slides) will be closed to the rest of our pool members. Please feel free to move chairs around to find a good viewing spot for your family. During your diver’s event, your diver will remain with the coaches in the “on deck” area, and the chairs near the dive well will be available for you to sit during the event.
Meet Theme
In honor of our OH sharks, we will be celebrating with an "Under the Sea" theme for this meet - so find all your favorite ocean critter-themed costumes, hair accessories (and even towels!).
Food at the MeetOur Shark Shack will be open selling our standard Shark Shack fare. And YES! We will have Chick-fil-A sandwiches. We are asking you to pre-order your sandwiches before the meet so we will know how many to purchase.
