Rutherford Water Rats

Hi! I’m Sophia Robertory, and I am so excited to be head swim coach this summer! This is my 14th season swimming for Rutherford, and I have been in various coaching positions across the team over the last 4 years. In the winter, I swim with Fairfax Foxes. Outside the water, I am graduating Woodson High School and will be attending Virginia Tech in the fall to study biomedical engineering. I love traveling, being outside, and adventures with my friends. I am so excited to be back with all our swimmers!

Hi! My name is Vivian Hanson, and I am thrilled to be the Development Director and Assistant Coach for the 2026 Water Rats summer swim season! I am a graduating senior from Woodson High School, and this is my third year on Little and Water Rats swim staff. I am passionate about nurturing the swim skills of all Little Rat swimmers and making practice a fun learning environment. No matter what level swimmers are on, I will always help develop their confidence, love of swimming, and Water Rat spirit. Outside of summer swim, I am a rower, lifeguard, and puzzler! I am so excited to see all of the wonderful things we as a team will accomplish this season!

Hi! I’m Adelaide and I will be a swim coach for the Rutherford Water Rats in the 2026 summer season. I’ve been a member of the RFD team for 14 years and just finished my senior year at Woodson High School. In my spare time I enjoy reading, volunteering and spending time with my rabbit and three dogs. I’ve been a Little Rats and winter RFD coach for the past couple of years, and a summer coach last year. I’m looking forward to getting to know new and familiar water rats! Go RFD!

Hey! My name is Bradyn Brooks and I will be an assistant swim coach this summer. This is my 5th year with RFD, and I have been coaching for 3 years. I am a rising junior at Woodson High School, where I am on the volleyball, swim, and soccer teams. In my free time I like to play soccer and eat food. I am so hype to be back for another season with all our amazing swimmers and cannot wait to meet our newest! Go RFD!

Hi, my name is Lucie Frank, and I will be an Assistant Coach for the Water Rats this year. I have been swimming for Rutherford for the last 12 years, and have been coaching the Rutherford winter team for the past 3. I am a rising junior at Woodson High School where I am a member of their swim team. In my free time, I swim for the Fairfax Foxes, enjoy reading, and love to hang out with my friends and family. I’m looking forward to being a coach this year and having a great season with the team!

Hi! My name is Jane Hildreth, and I will be a junior coach this year at Rutherford. This is my 10th year as a swimmer, and I'm so excited to start my coaching journey. In my free time, I like to play volleyball and make friendship bracelets. I know this will be a great season, and I'm honored to be a part of it!

Hi! I’m John Burns, and I will be the head dive coach this summer! This will be my second year as a member of the coaching staff, my 7th season as a Rutherford diver, and my 9th season as a swimmer. I am a graduating senior at Woodson, where I played football and was a member of the track and field team. I am excited to pursue my post-secondary education at George Mason University, where I will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I am very excited for a new season with returning divers and new faces! Go Water Rats!

Hi! I’m Kathryn Fegan and I will be the assistant dive coach this summer. This will be my first year coaching dive with RFD and my 8^th season as a diver.

I’m a rising sophomore at Woodson, where I dive and play field hockey and soccer.
